Watch out Europe for these MLS Players

The best clubs in Europe are looking all around the world for great young players and MLS is a league that those clubs are looking towards. Players like Clint Dempsey and Stuart Holden have come out of MLS to become stars overseas in the Barclays Premier League. Now that Tim Ream and Robbie Rogers are the latest MLS players to head overseas, here are the best overseas prospects that could make major impacts in Europe in the near future if they choose to cross the pond.

Seattle Sounders CF Fredy Montero
Montero is one of the best players in MLS right now and age 24, he has made a huge impact on Seattle as a superstar. Montero has been a very good goalscorer for Seattle as he had a rough start last season but was excellent once he refound his form. Montero can hold up the ball and then dish it out to someone else and he can create his own shots which are characteristics of a true number 9. Montero works very well with a creative midfielder behind him like he had this year with Mauro Rosales. Montero is also very good at free kicks as he had multiple goals including an impressive one against the Portland Timbers. It was something you would expect from someone like David Beckham. Montero has the potential to be a very good striker overseas. Montero would probably cost around 6.5 million dollars which equals 5 million euros. Potential landing spots for Montero include Real Betis, who almost signed him from Seattle in the past, Fulham, West Brom, and other teams across Europe. A move overseas for Montero may never happen but it is a possibility.

LA Galaxy CB Omar Gonzalez
Omar Gonzalez has become one of the best centerbacks in Major League Soccer and was about to go on loan to FC Nurenburg when he tore his ACL which has put any move in doubt for right now but maybe in 2013. Omar Gonzalez has been playing very well in all his MLS seasons as he is definitely one of the best centerbacks in North America, not just MLS. Gonzalez should definitely be able to recover from this injury and return to the form he has played with his whole career. Omar Gonzalez's value is between 3.5 and 4 million dollars (2.5 and 3 million euros). Gonzalez has the potential to be at least a starter for a midtable Premier League club in only a couple years. Gonzalez has the potential to be as good as Tottenham centerback Ledley King or Everton centerback Phil Jaigelka. Gonzalez is a very strong centerback and could be a target for teams like FC Nurenburg, West Brom, Norwich City, Wigan, and other teams in England, Germany, and Spain. Gonzalez will probably not leave MLS till he recovers but a move overseas is possible around the summer of 2013 as he will try to make the 2014 World Cup for either the United States or Mexico. Gonzalez could also stay in LA his whole career with the stars that are going to the Galaxy. Gonzalez is a top player that is overlooked because of other stars like David Beckham, Landon Donovan, and Robbie Keane.

DC United GK Bill Hamid
Bill Hamid is one of the most promising young goalkeepers in the world right now which has teams around the world watching him. Bill Hamid is only 21 years old and he just recorded a clean sheet in his first international appearence for the United States against Venezuela last Saturday. Hamid will be the focus of scouts in Panama City when the United States international will probably get another start against Panama tomorrow night. Hamid is the leader of the new generation of great American goalkeepers as he has excelled for DC United. Bill Hamid has drawn claims that he is the next Tim Howard or Kasey Keller and a move overseas will probably happen at some point in his career. Hamid will get the chance to shine in the Olympics this summer as he seems like the starter at goalkeeper by a mile. Hamid almost signed with Scottish Premier League side Celtic before he signed with DC United. Hamid willl probably be looked at by top clubs throughout the world like Arsenal, Tottenham, Everton, and other clubs in the top 5 leagues in the world. Hamid has the potential to be as good as Tim Howard. Hamid will probably stay in MLS till at least the summer of 2013 as he knows he can continue his development in the United States and be noticed by the national team. However, Hamid might decide to make his move in the summer of 2013 so European fans should watch Hamid. Hamid could also leave sooner and go on loan somewhere. Hamid will probably cost around 4 million dollars (3 million euros), if he moves this summer or by 2013 he could be worth 6 to 7 million dollars (5 to 5.5 million euros). Hamid will definitely be a top goalkeeper in Europe if he decides to go which he will probably do.

New York Red Bulls ST Juan Agudelo
You can't talk about a group of the best young MLS players without talking about New York Red Bulls and US international striker Juan Agudelo. Agudelo became a star after he made his debut for the United States against South Africa when he became the youngest player to score for the United States in history and that goal was also the winner against South Africa. Agudelo now has multiple caps for the United States but is currently struggling for playing time in New York with Thierry Henry and Luke Rodgers as the current starters at striker for the Red Bulls. This has sparked rumors that Agudelo could make a move overseas to a team like Arsenal or Liverpool as they both have looked at him some. Agudelo has proven his ability to score for the United States and Agudelo is still only 19 year old. Agudelo has the potential to be as good as Luis Suarez is for Liverpool. This might seem a little crazy but when you look at the skills that Agudelo has, this comparison starts to make some sense. If Agudelo doesn't turn out that well, he definitely has the talent to be as good as Villarreal's Nilmar. Agudelo could cost nearly 6 million dollars (4.5 million euros) if he were to move by the summer of 2012 or he may cost over 10 million dollars (7.5 to 8 million euros) if he waits till 2013. Agudelo is probably going to get his chance to play overseas and there is no reason to think that he won't be sucessful.

FC Dallas FW Brek Shea
Brek Shea is one of the best players playing in MLS and probably even North America right now as clubs from all around the world have been watching him and considering moves for him. Brek Shea had a huge season last year in MLS as his creativity for setting up goals was shown constantly for FC Dallas. Shea was one of the best players last season in all of MLS and he became a superstar across the country. In August of last year, Shea made his debut for the United States national team and he assisted a goal for Leeds United's Robbie Rogers. Since then, Shea has become a star for the United States as this has gained the attention of some of the biggest clubs in Europe like Manchester City, Chelsea, Liverpool, Schalke, and other clubs throughout Europe. Brek Shea has become a creative playmaker on the wings and reminds me a lot of Costa Rican and Fulham star Bryan Ruiz. Just like Ruiz, he has the speed to make plays on the wings. While Ruiz is more of a finesse player, Shea is very agreesive but knows how to set up goals for other players. Brek Shea is also starting to become a better goalscorer which makes him that much more of a potential star. Brek Shea is probably worth around 9 million dollars (7 million euros) but he will probably wait till 2013 to head overseas which could mean he might cost around 13 million dollars (10 million euros). Brek Shea has the potential to be the next Clint Dempsey or Landon Donovan or even better for the United States national team. Brek Shea will be an excellent player in the next few years for a big time club in Europe.
