Today's Biggest Transfer News: Part 2

Today has had so many rumors emerge from all across the Premier League and Europe in general. For that reason, here is a part two of today's transfer headlines as the rumors keep flying on in.

Manchester United is after Tottenham star Rafael van der Vaart, Vasco de Gama and Brazil CB Dede, Lyon LB Aly Cissokho (Juventus is also interested in Cissokho) and FC Nordsjaelland promising Danish CB Jores Okore (Liverpool also has shown interested).
Manchester United is starting to consider making some moves now and in the summer with Rafael van der Vaart being a target for a 20 million euro move in the summer. Harry Redknapp will definitely not sell him right now which is why Sir Alex Ferguson will wait til the summer to make a move for him. However, 20 million euros will definitely not be enough to sign van der Vaart as it will probably take at least 30 million euros to sign him. Van der Vaart also has tons of loyalty to Tottenham and it will be very difficult for Sir Alex Ferguson to sign as he should go after Inter CM Wesley Sneijder since Sneijder will be more interested in a move to another club than Van Der Vaart. Dede is an interesting target for Manchester United that doesn't make sense to me as they already have Rio Ferdinand, and Nemanja Vidic as starters and they have younger centerbacks with lots of potential like Chris Smalling and Phil Jones. A move for Dede doesn't make much sense to me because it would probably take around 15 million euro which is too much to spend for a guy who will probably be behind Vidic, Ferdinand, and Smalling on the depth chart. Their money could be better spent on a central midfielder that they desperately need like Sneijder or Newcastle's Yohan Cabaye. Lyon leftback Aly Cissokho is another target for Manchester United as Cissokho could very well be sold this window as Juventus is also interested and leading the chase. However, Juventus is holding active negotiations with Cissokho and a move to Juventus seems imminent. However, if talks fall apart like they did between Carlos Tevez and Paris Saint-Germain, then Cissokho could be a summer target for Manchester United. Cissokho has the potential to be a legitimate replacement for Patrice Evra in the long term at left back. Cissokho has a lot of the same quality skills that Evra has so this seems like a perfect match if his deal to Juventus falls apart. Jores Okore has become one of the best young centerback prospects in Europe as he has drawn the interest of Manchester United and Liverpool. His success in Denmark could mean it is hard for FC Nordsjaelland to keep him now and should try to sell him to the highest bidder. Both of teams would love to bring him in witht the potential he has. If Okore moves, it will probably be in the summer with the widnow so close to closing right now.

Chelsea in hot pursuit of Shaktar Donetsk star Willian
Chelsea has been pursuing Shaktar Donetsk star midfielder Willian as he has said that he is interested in a move to Stamford Bridge if the opportunity were to arise. Chelsea has already had a bid of 16.7 million euros rejected but Andre Villas-Boas seems willing to put up a bid of 20 to 24 million euros to sign the Brazilian. Willian loves the opportunity to win major trophies at Chelsea and he knows it would be an amzing opportunity to move to Stamford Bridge and play in the Premier League. A move to Chelsea would also allow him to get back in the Champions League as Chelsea are still in while Shaktar have already been eliminated from the Champions League after their run to the quarterfinals last year. Willian will definitely get the chance for playing time as he will be battling with Ramires, Raul Meireles, and Frank Lampard for playing time. However, I'm not convinced that this deal will get done just yet but I am expecting Willian to be playing at Stamford Bridge.

Everton and Sunderland are after Bestikas and Portugal international striker Hugo Almeida.
Everton and Sunderland are looking to improve their options at striker and are looking at making a move for Bestikas and Portuguese international striker Hugo Almeida. The price for Almeida is around 3 million euros but David Moyes is looking to take him on loan probably with a buyout clause of around his value of 3 million euros. Meanwhile, Sunderland's Martin O'Neill is now also interested in the Portuguese striker as Denmark international Nicklas Bendtner picked up an injury recently which will keep him out for multiple weeks. Both clubs might have the money to actually make a move especially Everton depending on how much money the bank allows them to spend after they sold Diniyar Bilyaletdinov to Spartak Moscow for 5 million euros. Sunderland may also consider just bringing back Asamoah Gyan from his loan but Almeida is probably a backup option. I not sure if Almeida will want to only make a loan move right now so I think he will be staying in Turkey till at least the summer.

West Brom and Blackburn target a move for Fulham CB Chris Baird.
West Brom manager Roy Hodgson and Blackburn manager Steve Kean have shown some interest in making a move for Fulham's Northern Irish CB Chris Baird. Ever since Martin Jol became manager at Fulham, Chris Baird has not been able to earn a spot in the regular starting 11 which has him now looking for a move away from Craven Cottage. Baird has been rumored with a move to West Brom as a makeweight to sign Peter Odemwingie but Roy Hodgson now wants Baird as they worked together previously when Roy Hodgsen was manager at Craven Cottage. Blackburn is a surpise chaser of Baird as he would not start at Ewood Park unless this is a sign that Steve Kean has decided to sell either Chris Samba or Scott Dann making Baird a replacement for one of them. This could be a sign of some unrest in the locker room which would not be good for a team that is fighting to avoid relegation. I think a move of around 2 million euros for Chris Baird to West Brom makes sense as he could form a good pair on the backline with Jonas Olsson.
