[ONLY FC BARCELONA FANS] Puyol and Xavi in the running for the 2012 Golden Foot Award

The two FC Barcelona players are among the 10 nominees for 2012 Golden Foot Award. The award distinguishes the best active footballer over the age of 29 years old.

Just like in 2011, Carles Puyol and Xavi Hernández are among the 10 candidates nominated for this year's Golden Foot Award. The award distinguishes the best active footballer over the age of 29 years old.

Giggs votes for Xavi

One of the first to cast his vote was last year's Golden Foot Award winner, the Welshman Ryan Giggs. The Manchester United legend voted for Xavi Hernández, who is in the running for the award with Iker Casilllas (Real Madrid), Gianluigi Buffon, Andrea Pirlo (Juventus), Raúl González (Al Sadd), Clarence Seedorf, Zlatan Ibrahimovic (AC Milan), Didier Drogba (Chelsea) and his team-mate Carles Puyol. The nominees were selected by 52 sports journalists from around the world.
