[ONLY FC BARCELONA FANS] Messi puts faith in Vilanova

Lionel Messi hopes that new Barcelona coach Tito Vilanova will remain as the Catalans' manager for an extended period of time.

Vilanova replaces Pep Guardiola as the man in charge at the Camp Nou side on July 1, and the Argentine is eager for everything to remain the same under the new coach.

"I am staying at Barcelona and I hope that everything will be the same without Pep. Tito has a completely different personality, but I hope that he remains in charge for a long time," Messi said.

"That would mean things are going well."

The three-time Ballon d'Or winner stressed that Guardiola helped him improve as a player, and added that it was a difficult week when the 41-year-old announced his departure.

"Guardiola has helped me develop as a player, especially tactically. He explained things to me that I had never done before," he said.

"It was a difficult week. We lost to Real Madrid, were eliminated from the Champions League, and then there was Pep's departure. It was a real blow."

Guardiola guided Barcelona to the Spanish Supercopa, UEFA Supercup, Club World Cup and Copa del Rey in his last season in charge of the club.
