[ONLY FC BARCELONA FANS] Barcelona coy on Silva chase

Barcelona are giving nothing away regarding their alleged pursuit of AC Milan defender Thiago Silva.

While the Brazil international has been heavily linked with Paris Saint-Germain over the past week, there have also been reports of secret meetings between Milan chief Adriano Galliani and Blaugrana president Sandro Rosell.

However, in addressing the rumours, Barca spokesperson Toni Freixa refused the shed any light on the matter.

"Do not take it for granted that our priority is Thiago Silva, who is, however, a great player," Freixa told Marca.

"The news has come out and I don't want to discuss the sources, but, in any case, I do not want to either confirm or deny.

"I cannot confirm interest in one player or another, because we're not at that point yet."

Freixa claimed Barca will not be rushed into panic buying this season, as they will work around a pre-defined budget over the course of the close season.

"We have very clear ideas. We know what our budget is and we do not want anything to change our plans for improving the team," he said.

"We are lucky that players want to come play for us. This allows us to do good business."

Barcelona were heavily linked with Silva last off-season and the player has given mixed signals in recent months about whether he would like to move to Camp Nou.
