[ONLY FC BARCELONA FANS] Schalke general manager denies interest in Dani Alves

Schalke general manager Horst Heldt has moved to categorically deny rumors that the club is moving to sign Barcelona right back Dani Alves.

The Brazilian international had been linked with a move to the Gelsenkirchen-based side, but the 42 year old has insisted that no meeting between the two parties had taken place, nor were the Royal Blues even interested in the player.

"Dani Alves is a world-class footballer, it is no doubt at all. But these messages are just utter nonsense." the former Germany international was quoted as saying by the club's official website. "We have never made [Barcelona] an offer, we have had no contact with the player or his advisers, nor has he been offered to us."

Heldt had moved to quash the rumors about signing the 29-year-old, to ensure that there were no misunderstandings in the club's transfer policy.

"I do not [comment on rumors], but in this case, the public creates a completely false picture of our personnel policy," he continued. "Of course, we are currently planning for next season and see many opportunities to improve our quality squad. However, we have always said that we continue with our policy, consistently"

Schalke ended the Bundesliga season in third place.
