The LFP have confirmed that the 2012/13 La Liga season will begin on August 19th.
The Lliga de Futbol Professional (LFP) have approved the calendar for next season's league campaign, with the competition set to begin on August 19th and finish on June 1st 2013.
There will be just one midweek round of games next season - week 39 set for May 29th, although this may change should no Spanish team make the final of the Champions League, scheduled for May 25th , in which case that round of games would be played on May 26th.
The Spanish Cup Final will be played on Wednesday May 8th 2013, although if the Spanish FA are not in agreement, it may be moved to May 18th. If this happens, the two finalists would play the games scheduled for week 36 (19th May) on the 8th May.
Second Division dates
The calendar for the Second Division, in which Barça B play, has also been announced and it will also begin on August 19th, but finish on June 9th.
